Profil

Dr Laurent Mottron concentre sa recherche sur la manière dont les personnes autistes traitent l'information. Il étudie les mécanismes de perception, de mémoire et de raisonnement par lesquels les autistes perçoivent le monde. Ses travaux s’appuient sur des examens standardisés psychologiques et sur la technique d’imagerie cérébrale (tomographie à émission monophotonique, IRM anatomique et fonctionnelle).


Il est directeur du Laboratoire de neurosciences cognitives des troubles envahissants du développement
, un laboratoire qui fait partie du Centre d'excellence en troubles envahissants du développement de l'Université de Montréal (CETEDUM), dont il est le directeur scientifique.
